Next CC Journal

A call to arms! (o.k. pens, shutters and/or keyboards)

Once again it is that time in the annual cycle of Club activities – Journal time. A new team* has taken over the production of the 2016 volume; we are indebted to John Yates for the work he has already completed on the forthcoming volume. Ideally we would like to be able to send the Journal with next year’s AGM papers; but this is an aspiration rather than a certainty.

The Journal can only be as good as the copy the team receives, John has managed to extract seven substantial contributions but we need more. Now is the time to reflect on what you have been up to on the crags and mountains, hopefully you will have some interesting tales to recount, verse to entertain or images** to share. There are no “rules” about the content other than the obvious – no libel, plagiarism, copyright infringement or uncalled for offensive language. You don’t have to write an equivalent of the complete works of Shakespeare, “the quality matters not than the width”. Items reflecting the life and activities of the Club, either recent or from a nostalgic viewpoint are particularly welcome.

Contributing is as simple as 1, 2, 3;

  1. Identify your contribution
  2. Send it to the Journal Editor (Trevor Langhorne) by any method
  3. Enjoy the warm glow of having contributed to our great club

*The Journal Team comprises Trevor Langhorne (coordinating editor), David Medcalf (Obituaries), Chris Harle (Book Reviews), Ian Smith (expert editor & images) and Ian Wall.

**Images need to be at a suitable resolution for printing, a minimum of 200 dpi at the final printed size (if you are uncertain contact Ian for guidance). Any photographs of under 18’s can only be included with the written permission of their parent/guardian.
