Stage 2 of The Tour de France
Member Ken Cowell and friends cycled from the Downes Hut to joined the huge crowds supporting the Le Tour de France on its second stage heading into Sheffield from York. The image below shows them just about to leave the R O Downes hut on Sunday 6th July to see the race. “We saw the race from the Mortimer Road to the West of High Bradfield”.

Good photo Ken, sorry we missed you on the route, we were looking forward to the picnic! Had a great day out though despite the mile long queue of cyclists on the way back.
