James McHaffie
James has continued his new-routing by making the first ascent of what could be Wales’s hardest trad route yet on Dinas Mot in the Llanberis Pass. Dark Religion E9 7a follows the slab left of the top pitch of Direct Route.
James is the BMC Youth & Partnership Officer and will be running a Youth Meet at Ynys in September for under 18s.
On the Meet page there are links for more information, forms for over 12 and under 18s to apply together with information for experienced climbers who would like to volunteer to help James supervise the young climbers.
I like to think that maybe one or two of those youths will be a CC member in 60 years and look back on the way James helped them start climbing.
What a superb legacy.
