Craig Harwood Memorial

Climber, fell-runner, architect
(1961-2014)

Join us in a tribute evening to the memory of Craig Harwood who was tragically killed in a climbing accident a year ago last September. This will take place at the Don Whillans Memorial Hut starting at 6.30pm on Wednesday 16th September 2015.

As Chair of the BMC Huts Committee, Craig was actively involved in the management of the hut. He was instrumental in bringing about the significant investment in hut facilities that have recently been completed, including the new washroom.

As a permanent memorial to Craig, the BMC has agreed to a further investment in remodelling and extending the patio area at the front of the hut, due to be completed by the end of August.

There should be plenty of opportunities for those who wish to reacquaint themselves with the Roaches classics, many of which were particular favourites of Craig. Refreshments will be provided, though you may wish to finish the evening in Ye Olde Rock for chips and a pint or two in Craig’s memory.

We have closed the hut to normal bookings so can make available 12 free places for those who wish to stay over. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
