Note from Stephen Read
Despite coronavirus restrictions, there was a large spontaneous gathering of mountaineers with ice axes raised to give Doug Scott a fitting send off as his funeral cortege made its way to Castle Sowerby Church on Thursday.

Doug was the founder of CAN – UK based charity whose aim is to help some of the poorest people on the planet – the mountain people of Nepal.
