Pen Llŷn Supplement
The Climbers’ Club are pleased to announce the publications of a free downloadable supplement to the 2002 Lleyn guidebook. The 1.26mb supplement can be downloaded from http://www.climbers-club.co.uk/guidebooks/ci-wales-lleyn-sp.html.
The supplement has been written by Pat Littlejohn, who has been involved in over three-quarters of the 60 new routes since the guidebook was published. A number of regradings, revised descriptions and revisions to the approaches are also included. Ten-figures OS references are now given to assist GPS users in finding the notoriously hard-to-find crags in the Cilan Main area, where some of the descents are said to be more difficult than the subsequent ascents! As might be expected much of the climbing is hard with a fair number of the routes having the ‘adventurous’ XS grade. Pride of place goes to two E7s, climbed by Dan McManus and Jack Geldard, and two HXSs by Stevie Haston are also worthy of note! However, there are also a number of easy climbs.
The supplement is accompanied by a gallery of actions and other photos, which can either be viewed on the CC website, or downloaded.
