Night for Nepal

Night for Nepal – Monday 22nd June

Night for Nepal is an event hosted by the University of Bristol Mountaineering Club with Wilderness Lectures on behalf of the local climbing community and supported by Bloc, Redpoint, TCA, Undercover Rock, the local branches of the Alpine Club, the Climbers’ Club, Explorers Connect as well as a number of commercial sponsors including Mountain Kingdoms, Ellis Brigham, Taunton Leisure, Stanfords, Snow & Rock, Icon Films and Clarendon Press. The evening will feature a number of pecha kutcha 20×20 presentations from speakers who have range of personal experiences working, trekking and climbing in Nepal. We’re also planning an auction and a raffle. Proceeds will be directed to aid the Nepalese people via a number of charities known to and nominated by our partners or speakers. There’s a late bar.

  • Guy Jarvis: ‘Two bumbling novices go on an adventure in Lantang’
  • Mac Mackay: ‘Working with Gurkhas’
  • Adele Pennington: ‘A winter ascent of Aka Dablam’
  • Steve Berry: ‘Yeti encounter’
  • Bess Manley: ‘Mustang – the long road back’

Each speaker will deliver 20 slides automatically timed to change at 20 second intervals. Paul Donovan’s 6 images will be auctioned during the evening. Raffle prizes will be donated by our sponsors – full details on the night
