Very sad indeed. What rotten luck for such an experienced alpinist and climber. Our condolences to Mike’s family and friends. We’ve known Mike for many years, though never climbed with him ourselves. Having climbed in many of the same places as Mike, we have deep respect for his achievements. We admire his great contributions to the AC and ABMSAC.

Very shocked and sad. I saw Mike only recently and have climbed with him on quite a few routes in the Alps in the past.

I met Mike for the first time the day after the Dinner when he joined the walk I led over Whitbarrow, and later joined us with others for a coffee at home in Leasgill. Such a lovely man, and an awful shock to hear of his passing just a fews days later.
