Sun Rock - Languedoc France 1-7 May

Rock climbing opportunities in the Languedoc Roussillon area in the South of France are excellent. This meet is based from St Jean de Blaquiere where Keith and Fiona have a house, other local accommodation will be used were necessary. Cheap flights from Ryanair– e.g. presently Liverpool to Nimes for a week is £24. Please arrange your own flights and transport; there are airports at Montpellier, Nimes, Bezier, Carcassonne and Perpignan. We will be at the house from 28th April until 11 May. Rock Climbing is mainly bolt clipping and full range of routes from grade 5 upwards. A 60m rope is OK but a 70m is useful on some of the crags. Areas include:

There is considerable amount of road and mountain biking, walking and site seeing in the area which includes the challenging cycle ride of Cirque de Navacelles and beautiful St Guilhem de Dessert. Montpellier 25 min away.
Arrangements
The house itself has three double bedrooms plus a large area that easily takes 4-6 single beds/mattresses. We have hired another Gite, very close by, which holds four people. There is also an area at the back of the property for camper vans but there is no camping available at the present time. We have also got accommodation available opposite our own house but will only book this when we get confirmed bookings.
Cost per night around £7.00 per person per night regardless of where you stay (this is vague because it will depend on how many other Gites we need to book). Please bring your own sleeping bag.
The village itself has a bar/restaurant and a bread shop. Supermarket is 10 min away as are other restaurants in a variety of the local villages. The main house has large indoor lounge and terrace, kitchen etc. Cooking will be mainly ‘do it yourself’ with a one joint meal provided by Keith.
