2017 Scottish Islands - Lewis
Date: Saturday 3rd June 2017 to Sunday 11th June 2017Venue: Isle of Lewis - Uig Sands campsite
Following on from having the *best ever* trip to Pabbay last year, I said I'd organise this to continue the tradition of a June Scottish Islands trip. Lewis (and Harris) are easily accessible by car ferry, usually Ullapool to Stornaway, but can also be done via Harris (the islands are linked). https://www.calmac.co.uk/ The climbing is adventurous single and multi pitch with all grades available, and is brilliant on generally good rock - Lewisian Gneiss. Various accommodation options are available, if you want to cheat, but following on from the trips of previous years, the meet base is to not quite wild camp on the beach at Uig - there is running cold water and a flush toilet, and a minimal fee to a nearby croft - something like a pound a person per night although there may have been inflation since I last visited!
