Torridon Rock
Date: Friday 28th April 2017 to Monday 1st May 2017Venue: SMC Ling Hut, Torridon
Trad climbing of all grades on a range of mountain and low level crags at one of the best and most reliable times of the year…long days, no midges and four rock types to go at…gneiss, sandstone, schist and quartzite. Classic routes include the Cioch Nose at Applecross, Diabeg Pillar (“better than Left Wall†according to Kev Howett’s guidebook), Pale Diedre in Coire Mhic Fhearchair, and for those prepared for the long walk-in, Dragon and Gob at Carnmore, but wherever you chose, the scenery is stunning. Plenty of Sport routes too around Gairloch and Gruinard. The SMC’s Ling Hut in Glen Torrion is a great wee place with fantastic views of Liathach. We have 8 places at £10/night, so book early to grab your space. I assume most members will come as a team, but if you’re wanting to come alone, please let me know when you book your place, and I’ll try and put you in touch with others about car sharing and/or making up a rope if you want. I may even be able to arrange pick-ups from Inverness airport...
