I’m just back from a trip to the Languedoc region of southern France to sample some of Keith Sanders’ favourite local sport climbing. What a great place! We visited seven different crags in seven days: Joncas gorge; the Romane sector of Thaurac; multi-pitch climbing at St Jean de Bueges; pocket pulling at Caussanel; another sector of Thaurac whose name I can’t remember (!); Clape with its view over the Mediterranean; and weird limestone conglomerate-like rock at Vissou.
Below are a few pictures to tweak the interest. For more information visit this complete write-up and more pictures.
Special thanks go to Keith – the best networker and friend-maker I’ve ever known – thanks for accommodating us Keith! But I feel it is worth mentioning that The Climbers’ Club is a truly amazing organisation! Many of my closest friends are thanks to the Club. Where else could one hope to meet such a diverse group of people, bring them together, and go on fun climbing trips like this together?
