Ken Forsythe

I regret to inform you of the sudden death of Ken Forsythe early Sunday 25th September after a short fight with cancer. This happened very quickly following Ken’s emergency admission to hospital a fortnight ago after what we thought was a minor illness and is all a huge shock.

Originally from Kent, where he was active on the sandstone outcrops and in North Wales, Ken and his wife Pat moved to the South Lakes in the mid-70s which is when we met, and has been continuously active on the local scene since. He has left his mark with some hard first ascents, the most notable probably being Cyclotron (E4) on Lower Falcon Crag and PPS (E2) on Shepherd’s.

A sad and tragic loss of a good friend to both Sandra and myself – our thoughts are with his family.
