Below Route 2 etc, a wall rises from a large, sloping sea level ledge. This can be gained from near the tip of Flimston Ridge itself (lowmid tide!). The first feature on the left reached after 20 metres is a left-sloping ramp; start here.

Ten metres left of Flim-Flem, the sloping ledge forms a channel. Start just to the right of here.

Pitch descriptions:
Move up and follow the holds leftwards to a ledge above the channel and below a small roof. Pull up leftwards to skirt the roof; and trace a line up the thin crack in the brown slabby wall to the terrace. Very pleasant!

Start location:
Seventeen metres right of Helen’s Horror is a grey pillar of rock, with a thin crack in the left side of its front face. Gain the pillar by scrambling rightwards from the slabby descent gully.

Pitch descriptions:
1 15m 4c Climb the thin crack to a niche below the roof. Step left and pull up to gain a continuation crack which leads to a grass terrace below the upper buttress. 2 8m 4c Move up a grey rib and past a suspect protruding block, to finish up the steep face cracks.

Additional info:
Helen’s Horror repeated–grade confirmed! But what a horrendous, snappy route…at least the descent gully is near at hand!

Start 6 metres above and left of the start of The Wasp, on a large shelf leading down to the sea. The route takes the outer arête of Arch Buttress.

Pitch descriptions:
1 8m Move down the shelf for a couple of metres, then pull up onto a higher, smaller shelf, and follow this down leftwards to blunt spike belays at high tide level just right of the arête. 2 15m Move up leftwards onto the arête and follow this on juggy, but strangely polished rock to a ledge. Finish up the short pink groove.

Additional info:
On pages 110-111 of the new guide, routes 36 and 37 seem to follow much the same ground as routes 39 and 40! Also routes 38, 39 and 40 are more simply described as taking lines up the recessed wall immediately right of Trio Wall!

Pitch descriptions:
Climb the rightwards-slanting grooves to the overhangs. Trend up right below these to gain a circular hollow. Pull through a small bulge, move up, then trend leftwards to a hole below a prominent pink patch. Move right and up to easier ground; quite impressive for the grade!

Abseil from blocks in the hollow on the terrace down the line of the thin crack of Flimboyant to the ledge under the small roof.

Traverse 2 metres left, with feet at high tide level, and pull through the bulge at the obvious holds. Move up left, and finish up a groove with amazing ease!

To the East of the very tip of Flimston Ridge, are two coves ( see sketch on p 83). The coves are graced by small but beautiful rock architecture. The left-hand (South) cove has two buttresses separated by a slabby groove. The left-hand and smallest buttress has a prominent V-groove in its upper section. Approach by walking along dark ledges from the tip of the Ridge until things steepen; belay here.

Pitch descriptions:
4b Continue along a shelf, then cross an awkward gap. Move up rightwards to gain the V-groove, climb this and step along rightwards to finish.

Twenty-five metres seaward of Rainy Daze is a large, white-topped pinnacle (clearly seen on p 235). Start on a high platform up and left of the foot of its South (seaward) ridge. Descent is by a scramble down its North (landward) ridge!

Pitch descriptions:
Make a bold pull rightwards onto the ridge. Once established, climb the straightforward groove system to the summit.

Clamber onto the flake and follow the groove on the left almost to the roofs. Take a low line across the slab on the right to gain the edge of Bomb Slab. Ignoring the right-trending natural line of holds; go up and leftwards up the slab, in a splendid position, to gain the ridge.

Eighteen metres left of Crusty Clown, beyond the overhanging wall, the west sidewall also contains two cracks. The left-hand one being a slanting candle-snuffer chimney. Start on a ledge 3 metres above the boulders, below an easy-angled groove running up to the candle-snuffer chimney.

4a Climb the contrived rib just left of the easy-angled groove, and continue up the left-trending crack above.

From the top of the small, rocky promontory containing Bart etc; scramble down slabs to the right (looking in), to gain a large, comfortable hollow, high above the sea and topped by bands of overhangs. Start at the right side of the hollow.

4a Climb a rib for 2 metres, until a small flake allows the shelves on the right to be gained, followed by a step up onto a crystalline ledge. Step right and follow the groove immediately right of the largest prow to the top.

Step left across an inlet and climb the ridge on the left to gain a sloping ledge below a groove slanting up the left wall of the buttress (all very awkward on wave-polished rock; belay recommended!). Climb the groove to its top roof and avoid this to its left.
