This
guide gives updated descriptions for the cliffs previously covered by the
CC's Bosigran and Chair Ladder guidebooks as well as the crags of the Lizard
Peninsula. It thus provides complete coverage to the climbing in this popular holiday
area.
Along
with the two main granite crags of Bosigran and Chair Ladder there is coverage
of Sennen, Land's End, Pordenack, Carn les Boel and Carn Barra. Greenstone,
Killas Slate, Schist and Serpentine cliffs such as Gurnard's Head, Kenidjack
Castle Cliffs, Tater Du, Vellan Head and Bass Point are also covered. The guide
has a strong environmental emphasis.
The guide has been written by a team of
climbers comprising John Hooper, Nick Hancock, Shane Ohly, Pete O'Sullivan,
Andy March, Sam Salmon, Chris Craggs, Mike Raine, Martin Dunning, Paul Bolton,
David Hope and Des Hannigan. The 54 maps and diagrams are the work of Don Sargeant
and the book is well-supplied with action photos. Some 2160 climbs are described,
450 more than in the predecessor guidebooks.
