Another great Family Meet blessed with fantastic weather with rain only on a couple of days.
As always the crew includes several of the ‘old lags’! as well as some new folk on their first of what hopefully will be many Family Meets.
With Philippa at 10 it is sad to think that we have been to more Family Meets than we have got to go, but as we started when she was only 8 months old —–
Climbing trips to Chair Ladder, Fox Promontory, Cairn Barra, Hella Point, Trewavas, Aire Point, Sennen, John Wain Memorial Crag, Gurnards Head, Zennor, Kenidjack, Halldrine Cove, Tatar-du, Great Zawn and of course Bosigran the regular evening haunt of most parents after a hard day on the beach.
Various members of the team did early morning runs either along the coast path or over the back via Men-an-Tol and the mines, always alone as if too much socializing the night before meant that solitary runs were necessary!
Beach trips to Sennen, Porthwarra, Porthcurno, St Ives, Gwenver, Mousehole, Treen for swimming, body boarding, surfing, kayaking and snorkeling.
Culture trips on the 2 poor days to the Tate and Penndennis castle. It is worth mentioning the oldest of the ‘old lags’ Iain Peters turned up on Thursday 6th August and this resulted in ‘7 go to Porthguarnon East’ a comic strip presentation with usual Peters fun which continued to his leaving after midnight.
Obviously the later evenings when dark were devoted to sober discussion of the issues of the day! : )
