Chamonix Winter Skiing & Climbing Meet

Date: Saturday 4th February 2017 to Sunday 12th February 2017
Venue: Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France

I'll be organising a meet in Chamonix for the week 4th to 12th February 2017.

I will not be organising accommodation - that'll be up to people to organise for themselves.

There's so much to do for everyone in Chamonix in winter:
  • Skiing (on and off piste),
  • Ice climbing – roadside to big and mean stuff,
  • Alpine winter climbing,
  • Snow shoeing routes,
  • Prepared cross-country ski trails,
  • Winter hikes,
  • Shopping,
  • Eating and drinking,
  • There's even a climbing wall,
  • etc!

For us it's the skiing that is the main focus in February (when the snow is perhaps at its best). So we'll likely be on the pistes, off the side of the pistes, or way beyond the pistes in the back country. However, if there's a perfect dingle-day we could easily get out to and on a classic alpine ice line.

Each day I'll gather people's objectives/venues/etc. and share them so people can organise their piste bashing rampages, lifts to nearby resorts such as Courmayeur/St Gervais/Megève/Verbier/Flaine/etc. Plus I will also make sure we know where people plan to eat/gather each evening for après ski entertainment and dinner.

No accommodation is arranged so please arrange your own. However, I have a number of pointers and friend's apartments to suggest that might be available if you are stuck. Get in touch if you need help.

There will be daily updates of where everyone is going/doing for the day. Plus daily après ski/climb alerts for dinner etc.
