'The Nearest Slabs to London'
Date: Wednesday 11th May 2016Venue: Fairy Cave Quarry
Time: 11 May 2016, 9am onwards all day
The hidden gem that has its very own best selling CC guidebook will be the venue for a total FCQ experience (ravens, early orchids, an added adder, fairies) of mid-week slab-happy fun. Friendly local pioneers will be on hand to offer advice and partners. Classic routes such as Moving Target (*** E3 5c), Running on Empty (VS 4b)and even The Duchess of Cambridge (S) will be freshly cleaned. Some vegetation and loose rock will be left in place elsewhere for historic reasons. From 9am (sad, lonely, local mid-weekers tend to arrive early) the cavers' car park will be open, although car-sharing would be a cunning plan. If you need advice about where to park your new caravan (Ian Smith)just ring the Meet Leader after dark, when he'll be back from ... FCQ.
