Pabbay

Date: Friday 3rd June 2016 to Sunday 12th June 2016
Venue: Pabbay wild camping.

Pabbay is a world famous trad climbing destination at the southern end of the western islands. We will assemble in Oban on Friday morning and take the ferry to Barra. From there we will get a fishing boat to Pabbay which will be our base for the week. You can expect immaculate weathered Lewisian gneiss in a stunning location. The wild life will be outstanding In particular the seals and puffins. The climbing should need no introduction. The climbing is mostly 1 to 3 pitch in length with major classics like Prophency of Drowning (e2 5c) and The Priest (e1 5b) to go at. The trip is probably most suited to the climber who can enjoy HVS and above.
We will be wild camping. There are no facilities on Pabbay so you will need to bring all camping gear and food. There is drinking water. We will hire a sat phone for emergency use. The trip is limited to 24 people maximum. The first 24 people to pay a deposit of £100 will go on the trip. This is the cost of the fishing boat to and from Pabbay and a sat phone rental. The only other cost for the trip is getting to Barra by car then public transport boat. It will be a cheap trip as there is no pub on Pabbay.
