The Big G Camping

Date: Saturday 16th July 2016 to Sunday 17th July 2016
Venue: Camping on Anglesey or Ynys, depending on what people would prefer. Ynys will not be booked exclusively for this meet as there’s plenty of space for everyone there.
Time: Dusk till dawn (actually, that’s in Pembroke…)

You never forget doing those big routes at Gogarth – they leave you physically or mentally exhausted, or both! This is a meet for those who enjoy that kind of thing…
You know the way you can never get partners to go to Gogarth because everyone else thinks it’s too big, too hard, too scary or too loose? Then come along to this meet and you will get to climb with other devotees of crazy quartzite formations and weird angled pinches. If you don’t have a partner lined up, get in touch and we’ll sort you out.
The tides are perfect – low at 2.36pm on Saturday and 3.24pm on Sunday, late enough for the sun to do its work but early enough to get a big route done.
With the new Gogarth South guide book out, this will be a great opportunity to check out the classics of Yellow Wall, Castell Helen and Rhoscolyn, as well as less well known areas of South Stack. The bird ban will still be on but there will be plenty of unrestricted routes to go at, especially with the tides being ideal. It’s not often that you can catch elusive beasts like T Rex in condition – this could be your chance!
Lots of Hard and Extreme Rock ticks as well, so what’s not to like?

It never rains at Gogarth but in the unlikely event that the forecast is dire, the meet will be moved to a sunnier location – got to be flexible in this game!
