Joshua Tree meet

Date: Saturday 1st October 2016 to Saturday 15th October 2016
Venue: Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree is a granite high desert climbing area (@ 3000 to 4000ft) mostly within the Joshua Tree National Park, about a 3 hour drive from L.A. or Las Vegas Airports, The area has so many routes that the selective climbing guide has 3000 routes. Within a one hour drive are the sports climbing areas of New Jack City (@ 3000ft) and Holcombe Pinnacles (@ 8000ft). Holcombe should be accessible until the end of November when Big Bear opens for skiing.
There is no public transport (or drinkable water) in the Park and a car is required, some (many) of the park roads are dirt and a higher clearance 2-wheel drive is recommended.
Park Entry is $20 per week Camping is $12 per night for 2 cars and 6 people. Water costs extra! Bouldering mats can be hired in Joshua Tree Village. Supermarkets are in the towns of Yucca Valley and 29 Palms
