Grange Beer and Curry Meet

Date: Friday 8th May 2015 to Sunday 10th May 2015
Venue: Grange, Borrowdale, Cumbria, Lake District

The meet is based at the Old School House hut in Grange, Borrowdale. It is ideally positioned for North Lakes climbing with valley and mountain crags to choose from, a long pleasant stroll will even take you to Scafell should you wish Sporty types will find St Bee’s and the newly developed Bram Crag Quarry a short drive away. The Bowderstone is just over the road if you want to bring your mattress and try to pull it over. May is usually the best climbing month here but if the weather does not play ball there are plenty of options; loads of quality mountain and road cycling, great walking/running, pleasant paddling on the lake, daft paddling down the gills. The newly opened King Kong climbing wall in Keswick is excellent and even has a great big fridge, summer ice anyone? Having a curry night on Saturday will make cooking easy and meal times flexible for those who wish to make the most of the daylight. Please volunteer what you wish to provide, meat dish, veggie dish, rice dish, nans, popps and pickles etc. I have pudding covered. There will also be a limited number of Borrowdale and Lakes select guides going free. If enough folk are interested, I can arrange an 80 pint barrel of local ale for the purposes of rehydrating thirsty athletes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grange Old School is situated in the village of Grange, on a minor road off the B5289 from Keswick, ¾ mile after The Borrowdale Hotel turn R over the bridge into Grange. Go past the two cafes and about 150 metres after the second one the road turns right back towards Keswick, the old school is on the bend, directly in front of you
