Halloween Joint CC and Rucksack Club Meet at the Downes Hut
Date: Friday 30th October 2015 to Sunday 1st November 2015Venue: Downes, Froggatt, Peak District
The meet is based at the RO Downes Hut in the Peak District being ideally positioned for Peak Gritstone and a short drive from Limestone with grades to suit all. Im not expecting glorious sunshine but we may be lucky and have dry weather. If not these plenty to do in the Peak, If you fancy having a go Caving equipment can be sourced with advance notice. Bring your bikes just in case you fancy cycling or mountain biking. There’s plenty of good walking to be had with pubs and cake shops galore to keep you supplied. Don’t fill up too much as I’m planning a Halloween themed meal with many a Pumpkin dish along the way. I plan to make this affordable at between £5-£10 per person. This will include a payment towards communal milk. Green Blue and Soya should cover most bases. Im happy to cater to all diets if you let me know what you can eat. To get us in to the autumn mood there will be a prize draw for the best Halloween costume on or off the crag. We will also have a bonfire and games including apple bobbing. If any local CC members would like to call in and be social that would be nice, come out climbing and stay for the meal fee free, please, let me numbers for food. I plan to send a guest list out a week or so before the meet and hopefully you can team up / car share to reduce the number of vehicles in the car park. Please let me know if you can make it and I’ll reserve you a bed, tent space or van space.
