FRCC Easter Meet - Aubignan France

French Easter Meet The French Easter Meet in 2015 is to be held from 4 April to 18 April at Camping le Bregoux, in the village of Aubignan. This is 3 km south of Beaumes de Venise, and is convenient for access to the Dentelles de Montmirail, where there is good climbing and walking. There are other crags within driving distance, including those around Buis les Baronnies. The network of minor roads around the vineyards are good for cycling, and there are plenty of options for wine tasting. The interesting towns of Orange and Avignon are within easy reach for off-days. The rock climbing guide to the Dentelles can be bought locally, and the Rockfax guide - France, Haute Provence, includes selected climbs in this area Reservations at the campsite can be made online at www.camping-lebregoux.fr There are a few mobilhomes to rent on the campsite, but some are already reserved, and if you want one, it would be wise to book early. There is no fee to reserve a camp site, and if you tell them that you are with the Fell and Rock Climbing Club, they will try to allocate a site in the eastern part of the campsite, where the mobilhomes are located. If camping, it is worth asking for a site that is sheltered from the mistral. For access by road, it is best to leave the A7 Autoroute at junction 19. Bollene, and follow the D8 towards Carpentras. Nimes is probably the nearest airport, and there are flights there with Ryanair. David Miller
