Late Summer Yorkshire Dales Meet

Date: Friday 12th September 2014 to Sunday 14th September 2014
Venue: Lowstern near Clapham
Time: I'll be there 7 to 7.30 on the Friday

The meet is based at the YRC (Yorkshire Ramblers) hut at Bentham, Lowstern. It is ideally positioned for Dales Limestone Trad with grades to suit all from diff to E8. If you're into Sport climbing there is a wealth of climbing nearby from 5`s all the way up to John Gaskins test piece, “Violent new breed” 9a+ if you think you're hard enough. If there is inclement weather, there is super MTBing in the area and as the limestone drains so quickly the walking does not get boggy either. If you would rather climb in the dry, Ingleton climbing wall is close by and attracts some very good climbers and does a cracking full English.
This will just be a fun weekend of climbing so come with your mates or come on your own and make some new mates and as Sunset is 8.30ish plenty of time for cragging and maybe a BBQ or whatever.
If any local CC members would like to call in and be social that would be nice, even if you don`t climb any more it would be good to meet you.
Lowstern is a top notch hut and costs £5.50 per night, with 16 places so if you could, probably best if you could let me know if your coming.
Something to note is that Clapham train station is only 1.7miles away so it is possible that car use could be minimised on this meet.
Getting there.
Grid reference 736691. Lowstern is on the B6480 Clapham to Bentham road, a quarter of a mile from the junction with the A65 (Clapham bypass). The cottage is in a small plantation on the south side of the road and is approached through double gates and up a short track
