Summer Rock / Alpine Meet / Mixed activity
Date: Saturday 2nd August 2014 to Saturday 16th August 2014Venue: Ailefroide
Fed up with sitting in the rain in Chamonix; hacked off with the "flag" in Zermatt; The Briancon area in the Ecrin National Park boasts over 300 days of sunshine every year. There's great multi-pitch climbing on both granite and Limestone, lots of quality sport climbing in the Durance Valley, there's some amazing Via Ferratas and you could even bring your mountain bikes as the area is a well known destination for those keen on two wheels. Finally, for those with a yearning for big white snowy things; there's even some Alpine climbing to go at.
Camping d'Ailefroide: a great campsite set in and around the village of Aliefroide; all facilities available plus climbing from your tent / camper van door: www.ailefroide.fr/camping/
