The Cheese Meet - Grange Hut
Date: Friday 2nd May 2014 to Monday 5th May 2014Venue: Grange, Borrowdale, Cumbria, Lake District
It is that time again to scour the cheese counter for the most bizarre and wonderful cheese you can find to bring to this meet. We have to beat the record of 43 different types of cheese and not get kicked out of the Borrowdale Hotel for stealing (different story but involves cheese)
Apart from that we might get some climbing in.
The rough plan goes like this...
Meet leader will arrive late Friday 9.00 - 10 pm we will need the family room as we have our 4 year old son and 9 month baby and wife to accommodate.
Climb on Saturday.
Meet meal on the Saturday night 8.00 pm? Some kinda of chilli (David has banned me from adding more chilli powder) there will be one meat and one veggie provided. I do ask for a �5.00 donation for the meal, too including biscuits for cheese.
On Sunday night or the Saturday we have a slide show of various trips people have been on, can be climbing, traveling, mountaineering etc. Nothing formal, I will bring a laptop/ projector so USB key would be useful. If you have slides and need a projector give me a shout.
More climbing on Sunday, in the evening more cheese/ slides if not done on Saturday night.
More climbing on Monday, pack up and go. Meet leader will depart around 3.00 pm.
The meet is informal and folk can get stuck in as much as they like, on this meet no one is left out and we try to find a suitable climbing partner for everyone.
