The highest cwm above Cwm Glas Mawr hut is called Cwm Hetiau – the Cwm of the Hats. This could be appropriate as it has lots and lots of rubbish, probably including hats, blown over from Clogwyn Station and the nearby tourist trog up Yr Wyddfa on the ridge above the cwm.
Be that as it may, the Snowdonia Society is proposing to to do a clean up of the cwm on Saturday 30th September as part of “Make a Difference” weekend. It may be out of the way, but it’s wrong for any part of the hills to accumulate man-made trash.
If you would like to join in, meet us in Ynys Ettws car park at about 10.30am on 30th. Litter-pickers will be provided and you may find yourself a nice hat as booty! Let David Medcalf, details in the Handbook, know if you can help.
