Bristol Climbing Festival, 26 July
We aim to bring climbers, young and old, from all over the country, to climb Avon Gorge’s famous routes to celebrate its history and the BMC’s 70th Anniversary.
Organised by ClimbBristol volunteers, the festival will feature free sport climbing masterclasses from one of the best climbers in the world, BMC Ambassador Steve McClure, and a ‘stand-up’ interview of early Avon luminaries Sir Chris Bonington and Mike Thompson by Stephen Venables.
We’ll also have a base camp marquee with exhibitors, stalls and gear demos; climbing taster sessions and competitions on artificial structures; food stalls, late bar, live music and DJs.
